Leading high performing teams in a rapidly growing business

The opportunity

Ecrotek is the biggest beekeeping supplier in New Zealand. The leadership team were relatively new and they needed to develop their leadership capabilities to lead a rapidly growing and successful business.

Our approach

Over the last two years we have worked with the Ecrotek leadership team to develop a performance based culture encouraging personal accountability. We used a 360  feedback tool to get feedback for the leaders on their individual performance. We then supported them with coaching to identify the leadership behaviours they needed to execute the Ecrotek business strategies. A key focus was equipping them with the tools and techniques to lead growing high performing teams, and have performance and development conversations that were empowering and enabling.

Delivering results

The leaders were able to create much stronger strategic alignment across the organisation through improved communication and decision making. Each person on the leadership team has fed back that they have become more confident and capable as leaders. They are demonstrating the leadership skills and mindset needed to be increasingly more collaborative, enthusiastic and effective.


Being a relatively new company, we were looking for ways to upskill our young managers and give them tools and strategies to help them lead their teams effectively. John has run some brilliant leadership workshops over the last couple of years which have fundamentally changed the way they approach their working relationships. The benefit to our managers has been significant. They’re wiser, more invigorated and have all improved significantly in creating happier, more cohesive teams.
