John is an organisation development (OD) professional with over 20 years experience helping individuals, teams and organisations improve their performance. He focuses on working with organisations to quickly create, deploy and implement breakthrough strategies that help them to continually anticipate and adapt to chaotic and emergent change. By applying the principles of real time strategic change, John ensures that organisations can align and implement business goals rapidly. He systematically involves all those impacted by the change in a way that reduces risk and resistance, and simultaneously increases the possibility of dramatic results. He has developed and led organisation transition activities such as forming strategic alliances, downsizing, mergers and acquisitions. John has also designed and delivered solutions in leadership development, building high performing teams, and strategic talent management.

As an executive coach, John’s main area of expertise is working with CEO’s and executive teams seeking to optimise individual or team performance. He has coached hundreds of individuals and teams in areas such as leading and motivating others, interpersonal communications, setting and reaching performance related goals, collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning. He has recently consulted in organisational change and leadership development at the highest levels in a number of organisations in Australasia and South East Asia including Anheuser-Busch InBev, VF, J&J, Zurich and UBS.  John previously worked as an OD Manager for Telecom NZ focusing specifically on the creation of a Telecom-wide people centred change model, and the development of people leaders across the organisation. Earlier on he worked for 10 years in the pharmaceutical sector with GSK and PPD in the US and Europe holding senior OD management positions. John started his career as a senior tutor at Outward Bound in Wales and Indonesia.

In 2016 John started working as an associate of Cranfield Business School in the UK, delivering senior leadership programs for clients in the UK, US and Australia.  Recently he completed his accreditation with GENOS in Emotional Intelligence and psychometric evaluation. He uses a variety of other team facilitation and assessment tools in his work including MBTI and Belbin Team Self Perception Inventory.

As a passionate photographer John has always appreciated all types of art. He is currently chairman of the Titirangi Community Arts Council and helps guide the West Auckland charity to find and nourish emerging artists in the local area.
